"I had a terrible experience with Greg Shamus as my insurance agent. His lack of communication and professionalism is astounding. I was blindsided by an unexpected $758 charge from previous years of coverage that I didn't find out about until a year and a half later, all thanks to Greg's incompetence. He sent me a final audit bill that never even reached me, and even after I paid the ridiculous charge just to close my account, I was hit with more unexpected bills. All of this has led to a legal battle that is still in the process. It's infuriating to deal with an agent who leaves you in the dark and then continues to hound you for money after you have settled everything. Greg's service is shockingly poor, and I would advise anyone considering him to think twice. Save yourself the headache and find someone who knows how to communicate and handle clients properly. Avoid Greg Shamus at all costs! Edward Crow"
"We’re truly sorry to hear how frustrating this situation has been for you. We understand how upsetting unexpected billing changes can feel, especially when they involve prior policy periods. For clarity, the premium adjustment you’re referencing resulted from an external, independent audit conducted by a third-party vendor on behalf of the insurance carrier. During that audit, an undisclosed 1099 contractor exposure was identified, which required a correction to the policy’s payroll and classification information. In commercial insurance — particularly with workers’ compensation and general liability policies — independent audits are standard practice to ensure premiums accurately reflect the actual risk and business operations during the policy term. When additional exposure is discovered, the carrier issues an audit adjustment bill accordingly. As an agency, we do not control or perform these third-party audits, nor do we determine the additional premium owed. That said, we absolutely strive to communicate audit results clearly and help our clients understand how and why adjustments occur. We regret if there was any breakdown in communication regarding the final audit notice. We remain committed to professionalism, transparency, and helping clients navigate complex insurance matters — including audit reviews, policy classifications, and billing questions — as clearly as possible.
